On our second and last day of the trip, we had breakfast at the Zinzendorfhaus and hit the road for Wittenberg. This was the desired end of our trip--to stand in the University Church and sing "Ein Feste Burg". We arrived just afternoon at the Information stop just across the street from the University Church. The door upon which Dr. Luther nailed his theses was within 100 yards of us and the church was open. Inside, we sang A Mighty Fortress, saw Philip Melanchthon and Martin Luther's gravesites, and noted more statues, stained glass, and pictures of Protestant Reformers than we could have imagined. On our way to the Reformation museum, we looked back to see the words of the very song we'd just sang on the church tower (last picture above).
