Last week, this little girl turned 3. I realized that although there was a post on her party, there wasn't much information about the girl herself. So, here is a quick glimpse into the life of Miss Anne.
(Yes, that is a nice shiner there on her left cheek, caused by running a bit too fast in her Sunday best and falling into the coffee table.)
Anne still has the blue eyes she was born with, but they have a bit more green in them these days (like Oma). Her eyes (like Mama) are very sensitive to the light. She's a tall and slender little girl. When not running into coffee tables, she's also quite graceful. One of her favorite pastimes is dancing ballet and twirling. She also loves to sing, although at this point is a wee bit--how can I say this delicately--"intonation-impaired." Some of her favorite songs to sing are "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus," "Trust and Obey," "To God Be the Glory," "Come, Christians, Join to Sing," and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
Anne loves pretty things, yummy smells, and delicious foods. She will eat almost anything except spicy foods. Chinese is a favorite. Anything pink--cake, ice-cream, it really doesn't matter as long as it's pink. Strawberry milk is a must for breakfast.
Anne sits through our worship service at church beautifully. She sits with other families on the Sundays that I play piano and has never caused a problem. I love getting to sit with her, though, because it's so fun to watch her pick up on things during the service. She'll recite part of the Lord's Prayer, or sing some of a hymn she knows at times. And except for the occasional "That's my Daddy!" she colors quietly during the sermon. At the end of every service, she loves to run after her daddy to the back of the sanctuary as we sing the final benediction song.
Anne recently graduated from the nursery to Sunday School class. It's been a very exciting time. Although she can get a bit too enthusiastic at times, her enthusiasm does lend itself well to singing, memory verse recitation, and coloring. Anne has also learned the first 8 children's catechism questions, so far. We're so proud of her!
She's a delight and she's a mess. We love her to pieces, our little Anne!
